Sony Cyber-shot DSC W330 - A camera with Limited Means!

Introduction:

Sony Cyber-shot DSC W330 is one of those modest cameras that perform brilliantly but within a limited sphere. In contrast to the earlier W350 model, the only plus you can make out in the recently released W330 is the large size of its display. Needless to say, the W330 lags behind the W 350 in both the features and functionality-wise. The camera packs 28 MB internal memory and also offers support to a variety of memory cards-SD/SDHC/Memory Stick Duo/Pro Duo/ Pro Duo High Speed.

Features:

Sony has made operation of the Cyber-shot DSC W330 quick and easy by offering a host of features like Easy Shooting mode, Intelligent Auto (iAuto) mode and Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN). In Easy Shooting mode, the user will be guided through every step and all the settings will be set to automatic reducing the burden of meddling with them. Beginners will enjoy this mode better. The iAuto and iSCN features ensure that you have chosen the right kind of exposure and aperture settings for your picture depending on the light around. Seven types of scenes are being offered to appease the seasoned user.

Pros:

• Whether you are shooting large groups or a wide landscape, the professional-quality Zeiss Vario-Tessar 4x optical zoom lens will ensure that your picture shall not miss any part of it.
• Shoot video clips in movie mode at VGA (640 x 480) quality. While shooting movies the user cannot use the optical zoom feature.
• The camera’s modest 14 megapixels resolution will ensure that you can make good quality prints up to 13 x 19” size. The camera packs a powerful 3” LCD that will offer great visibility even when shooting in bright sunlight.

Cons:

• The DSC W330 lacks a range of components like- viewfinder, histogram display, AF Illuminator light and HD output.
• The user cannot set the white balance manually in this camera.
• The Blink detection feature was given a miss from this model.
• Unfortunately, the W 330 is not offering image stabilization feature as well.

Pricing Range: Pay just $165 - $170 to make this compact camera yours. Available in Silver, Red, Black & Blue!

Final Verdict: The Cyber-shot DSC W330 is a decent camera with a modest means. The camera offers good image quality for the price you are paying-the sole purpose of buying a camera. Other than that, if you want additional features or if you want to do much more than just taking pictures with your camera then, this might not be the one for you. Recommended for budget users who appreciate image quality above than anything else!
